The University of Dublin, Trinity College was founded in 1592. There is some interesting information on the university website. Trinity College is ranked 43rd in the top 100 world universities and amongst the top 50 European universities (13th) by the Times Higher Education Supplement (THES) university league tables. There were 15,716 registered students in 2007–08. In 2007/08, TCD secured €71.1m in research income. There are over 86,743 alumni.

Getting to Trinity:
Arriving from the Airport:
Dublin airport is situated about ten miles from the city-centre, on the north side of the city. It is located just off the M1 motorway (Dublin-Belfast road)
By Taxi:
Taxis are available from the forecourt on the Arrivals level road. A taxi dispatcher is available at the taxi rank if you require any further information or assistance. Expect to pay somewhere in the region of €25.
By Bus/Coach:
Aircoach offers services from Dublin Airport to the City Centre, South Dublin and Greystones on a 24 hours basis each day. Their City Centre service stops at most of the major hotels around Dublin City and their Greystones service stops at key locations in the Dublin South / North Wicklow area. By Train:
Simply take the DART to Pearse Street Station which is at the east end of the campus.
By Car: note that College Green is closed to traffic (except buses and taxis) at peak times.
